Titan Story. Quality Team

The three photos above are those of Marc, Pol and Joan. The three members of the Quality Team. One of the trio teams taking part in the Škoda Titan Desert Morocco.

The most veteran of them is Joan, a Titan Legend Platinum with more than 8,000 kilometres in Titan World Series races behind him. Marc and Pol are younger, although they are not newcomers to the race either.

What is most striking about this story is that all three share a single surname: Montaner. Joan is the father of Pol and Marc.

They are the only family of three participating in this edition. “In the end, the race itself is already a small family,” explains Joan. “I started on the recommendation of a friend and I’ve been running for 14 years now. It’s a chance to get together with friends and I want them to know about it too.

When it comes to the organisation of the race, Marc explains the strategy: “At the beginning, Pol and I pull. Then our father takes us, who is a diesel and gets to the last kilometres much better”. Of course, they all recognise that Marc himself is the one who is in the best shape.

When asked about what this race means to them, words like “improvement” or “enjoyment” come up, but Pol hits the nail on the head: “Disconnection”. “You just cycle, eat, sleep and more cycling. You forget about the outside world, about work, about everything. It seems contradictory, but you finish the race with renewed strength”.
