Miguel Induráin to take part in The Škoda Titan Desert Morocco 2023

18 de January de 2023

Miguel Induráin will be taking part in the Škoda Titan Desert Morocco 2023 on April 30th. It will be the second time that the rider from Navarre takes part in a Titan World Series race, after the Škoda Titan Desert Almería in 2020.

Five times in a row winner of the Tour de France GC and 12 stage victories of the Grande Boucle, two Giro d’Italia leader’s maglie rose, world and Olympic individual time trial champion… Induráin is, for many, the best Spanish rider in history.

The acclaimed athlete born in Villava will take part for the second time in a Titan World Series race. He will do so as a member of the Kosner – Saltoki Home team, one of the teams that promises to be one of the most talked about in the race. Accompanying the rider from Navarre will be the reigning champion of the race, the Swiss Konny Looser, among others.

In 2020, and after the race was changed due to the pandemic, Induráin took the start of the race held in Almería, together with his son. On that occasion, the Spaniard finished 41st. Two years later and with the experience gained from having already ridden 428 kilometres in Titan World Series events, the former Banesto and Reynolds rider is taking on the doyenne race, the Škoda Titan Desert Morocco.

“For me, it is a great joy to be able to take part in the Škoda Titan Desert Morocco 2023 as part of the Kosner – Saltoki Home team. I couldn’t do it before due to the pandemic and now it’s time to live this experience with a great group of people,” explains Induráin himself.

A CHALLENGING ROUTE

On April 30th, Induráin will be facing one of the most mountainous routes in the Moroccan race in living memory. Six contrasting stages, with the first two days being very demanding on uphills and downhills and the following four in the most deserted areas of the territory.

The full profile of the route will be announced on January 26th, at a presentation event held in Barcelona, which is expected to be attended by Induráin himself as one of the most prominent riders in the peloton.

Registrations for the Škoda Titan Desert Morocco are still open for any rider (professional or amateur) wishing to ride with the five-time Tour de France champion. To get a bib for the race, simply register through the race’s official website: https://skodatitandesertmorocco.com/en/register/.
