To hear a first-time rider in the Škoda Titan Desert Morocco say that “it’s the race I’ve always dreamed of” is not uncommon.

Perhaps what is most striking in Adrián Soriano’s speech is when he says that he is taking part “to give visibility to people with diabetes”.

Diagnosed with this disease six years ago, the Aragonese rider did not let that stop him from continuing to ride his bike as he had done until then and to be able to come to a race as demanding as the Škoda Titan Desert Morocco.

There will be stage winners, cycling historians and riders in the spotlight, but none will be able to eclipse the example that Adrián represents.
