The world’s best chocolatier at the Škoda Titan Desert Morocco

29 de November de 2022

Lluc Crusellas, best chocolatier in the world in the World Chocolate Master 2022, confirms his participation in the next edition of the race.

The ŠKODA Titan Desert Morocco, which will take place from 30 April to 5 May, will include the world’s best chocolatier among its participants. After being crowned with this coveted award just one month ago at the World Chocolate Master in Paris, Crusellas will fulfil his childhood dream of becoming a Titan.

At 26, this 26-year-old pastry chef from Vic put the finishing touch to two years of hard work. With 434 points, Crusellas beat the rest of the participants in the World Pastry Championship, against 10 finalists who had to overcome three days of tough tests in Paris.  In the end, he won four of the nine categories, as well as the prize for the best design. The press and spectator votes awarded him the #WOW prize for his 3-metre high, 200-kilo chocolate elephant.

Your next objective: The ŠKODA Titan Desert Morocco

A great lover of cycling since he was a child, Lluc Crusellas will be on the entry list for the next edition of the race. With his participation in the most important mountain bike stage race in the world, Crusellas will face his biggest sporting challenge.

As he himself explains, sport and pastry making share many values, such as perseverance and sacrifice; “cycling and pastry making have always gone hand in hand for me. I believe that sport has given me the values of perseverance, sacrifice and attitude necessary to achieve my goals. Sport and connecting with nature is a great source of inspiration. The colours, the organic textures… I get ideas and then take them to the patisserie”.

Lluc Crusellas will face six consecutive stages in Morocco, and will share the bivouac with the rest of the participants. Crusellas will be part of the KH-7 team, captained by Titan Legend Melcior Mauri.  The pastry chef will make this dream come true, a dream that has been in his head since he was a child; “TheŠKODA Titan Desert Morocco means a lot to me. I still remember when, when I was a little boy, they presented one of the first editions in Vic. That became a dream: to be able to go to the Titan once in my life. This coming year it will come true: I will be able to go to the Titan and enjoy it like that little boy who competed on a bike.

In front of him, 5 months in which he will have to prepare thoroughly for this event in which he will have to overcome dunes, work on navigation and adapt to the hot environment of Morocco, in an experience that will surely change his life; “Now I have these months until the start of the ŠKODA Titan Desert Morocco to train to the fullest and enjoy it to the maximum”.
